Grammy Award winning duo Deep Dish, have signed to Positiva Records for the release of their hotly tipped new single Flashdance - due out in the UK on 27 September 2004.

Deep Dish - aka Ali 'Dubfire' Shirazinia and Sharam Tayebi, are one of the most revered musical pairings in the world. Recognised as leaders of the US dance scene, their huge international fanbase has led to them becoming a truly global phenomenon, not least in the UK, where they've enjoyed consistent success in all aspects of their career - from their production and remix work, outstanding gigs, and numerous high-selling compilation albums, to their thriving record labels Yoshitoshi, Shinichi Records, and new offshoot, YO!

After rising to prominence as producers of De'lacy's classic house anthem Hideaway, their legendary first release - 1996's Stay Gold, impacted on the dance scene with the force of an H-bomb and brought the pair to the immediate attention of the media and industry alike. The follow up - Stranded (1997), was conclusive proof that Deep Dish were a long-term force to be reckoned with, as the record became one of the biggest dance singles of its year. Following this success, the duo hooked up with Everything But The Girl's Tracey Thorn for the re-release of Stay Gold, this time under the title The Future Of The Future (1998) - again, the resulting commercial and critical acclaim was deafening. Driven by the success of their singles, Deep Dish's debut artist album - 2000's Junk Science, sealed their place in the highest echelons of global dance culture and pushed them firmly into the mainstream spotlight - something that continues to the present day. As well as becoming stars of the underground scene, their remixes for the likes of Dido, Justin Timberlake, P Diddy and Madonna, have earned them awards and acclaim unheard of in dance artist history.

The duo's new single Flashdance, featuring its distinctive vocals from Anousheh and guitar licks from John Allen (guitarist for Morel) - has become one of the most talked about dance tunes of 2004. Following limited white label copies at Miami's W.M.C., the track rapidly became one of the biggest records in Ibiza, and soon picked up big plays from Radio 1's Pete Tong, Capital's Ali B, and every major club and specialist radio DJ in the world. Alongside the original version are storming new remixes from Skylark (aka Nic Fancuilli), a major breaks mix from Meat Katie, Germany's Raul Rincon - who injects a hefty shot of funk for his outstanding remix, and an electro-tinged F*** Me I'm Famous rerub courtesy of David Guetta & Joachim Garraud.
